NAIA Indoor Track Championships

Coming up next weekend is the NAIA Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships in Brookings, South Dakota. The Jamestown Jimmies will be sending three competitors this year to Brooking to compete at Nationals. One of those competitors is Dawson Sedivec, who will be competing in the weight throw at nationals. Sedivec placed 15th at the GPAC championships earlier in February, with a throw of 15.90 meters. Sedivec has placed 1st three other times this year, with the first of being at NSU vs UJ dual on January 14th, with a throw of 16.95 meters. He also placed first at the Cobbler Indoor Open, with a throw of 16.68 meters, and took first at the Mount Marty Last Chance meet, with a throw of 17.31 meters.

            Another athlete competing at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships is Jordynn Toliver. Toliver will be competing in her second consecutive Indoor Track and Field Championships this year. Last year Toliver took 7th place in the women’s Pentathlon with 3367 points. She also took 2nd at the GPAC Championships in the Pentathlon with 3395 points, while getting 8th in the High Jump with a jump of five feet and half inch jump and getting 14th in the long jump with a jump of sixteen feet and four and half inches.

            Jamestown last competitor going to the Indoor National Championships is senor Braedon Gumke. Braedon Gumke will be competing in the pole vault at the NAIA Indoor Championships this year. Although Gumke didn’t get a height at the GPAC Championships, he was able to take first place at the Mount Marty Last Chance meet. He also took second place at the Cobber Indoor meet. We wish all these competitors’ good luck at the NAIA Indoor Championships.
